How AmpleHours estimates what a station can run
Power and energy are different limits
Watts (W) say how much power a device draws at a time; watt-hours (Wh) say how much energy a station stores. We compare running power with each output’s published limits and estimate energy use. Start-up peak watts are compared only for AC; an undocumented peak duration leaves motor start unverified.
The variant sold in your country
Models are sold in regional variants with different sockets, voltages and inverter ratings. A figure from one country’s variant is never applied to another’s without its own source.
Editable assumptions
The calculator uses one editable percentage of nominal battery energy as assumed usable energy. The initial 85% is an illustrative assumption applied uniformly to all outputs; it is not measured efficiency or a separate depth-of-discharge setting. Runtime remains an estimate.
What we leave out
We do not cover installations connected to the household grid, and we do not recommend portable stations as backup for medical or safety-critical equipment.
Commercial links
Some shop links may become affiliate links. They will be labelled, and they never decide what a page recommends.
How this site is written
Pages are researched and drafted with AI assistance. Before publication each page gets an editorial review that is recorded with who did it and what it covered; a review by an AI agent is labelled as automated, and we do not claim native-speaker, expert or hands-on review unless it actually happened.
